MAKING A DREAM A REALITY
The time for change has come! In order to grow as an organization, The Girls for Success Program needs to devote money and assets into permanent structures and lasting resources. We've invested money, labor hours, and time maintaining various rental properties without the security or long term sustainability of ownership. To maintain our forward momentum, and nurture a more continual model of programming, The Girls for Success program needs a permanent home for our English and Empowerment programs. This new school center will not only house our English and Empowerment lessons but serve a space for community connection! We foresee family style dinners, art workshops, a play ground, and more!! Through a partnership with Michigan State University's College of Engineering CoRe Experience, we will be building our own Girls for Success Center to carry on our work for decades to come. This level of autonomy is HUGE!!!!! This fall three teams of four- first-year engineering students developed solutions and prototypes of their designs to be implemented this spring. During spring break 2019, another group of engineering students will be on site for the ground breaking and beginning of building the new center! We are thrilled to further strengthen our ties with the students at MSU and are eternally grateful for their ingenuity and support!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
While we are receiving a generous amount of support,The Peace through Yoga Foundation is STILL responsible for purchasing the lot to house the new school center. The general site was chosen near Samasati Nature Retreat, where the foundation offers Adventure, Yoga, and Service retreats two to three times a year. The lot and the classroom building will cost approximately $12, 000 total to complete. While alone we are unable to make the purchase, through the generous offer to donor match, and your help, we just might make our stand alone school a reality!!!
