New Teacher Introduction

Hello Peace through Yoga friends and family,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. The past two months I have been the new ESL Teacher and Program Facilitator at Girls for success. My name is Patricia Arias-Reynolds and I am an Artist educator from Newark, New Jersey! Although, I have lived the majority of my life in the U.S my family is from Alajuela, Costa Rica. My goal for living in Costa Rica long term was to teach language and art workshops to children.

Meghan, Chelsea, and Sally made that dream possible when I arrived in Limón! Every day when I get my on my bike to pick up the girls to head to El Yüe I know it's going to be another day of learning. I never imagined I'd be an expert on how to fix bike chains haha. Slowly I have been conquering my fear of really huge bugs but the most rewarding part of my job is the girls and their families.

I can see their desire to learn English and how they incorporate the new vocabulary they learn during classroom time in their everyday lives. The families are humble and invite you into their lives without thinking twice. I am beyond grateful for this experience and can't wait to show you our journey along the way. A big Thank you to each and every one of you that makes this program possible because without your support. There would not be sixteen girls and one very happy English teacher learning and enjoying life to the fullest!
